1 | The
Executive consists of a President, Treasurer, Secretary, and
Statistician. |
|
2 | The
Executive has the authority to operate the league according to
the Constitution and Rules. |
|
3 | The
Constitution and Rules may only
be amended at a league meeting, represented by a majority of
league teams. |
|
4 | The
league consists of eight teams and each team has one vote at
league meetings. |
|
5 | New
teams wishing to join the league must file an application, accompanied
by a list of prospective players and addresses. Entry into the
league is obtained by a positive vote of the majority of teams
present at a league meeting prior to March 31. |
|
6 | The
entry fee for this season is $800 per team. Each team must pay
$400 by May 1, and the remainder by June 1. The late fee for
each payment is $100. |
|
7 | The
schedule for the regular season, tournament and playoffs will
be distributed by May 1. |
|
8 | A
maximum of 25 players per team must be registered with Play Slo-Pitch
by May 1. Players may be added or deleted until July 1 and the
Secretary must be notified when these changes are made. |
|
9 | Players
must be at least 23 years old by December 31 of the playing year,
however each team will be allowed three players that are at least
21 years old by December 31 of the playing year. |
|
10 | Players
must be on the team's Play Slo-Pitch roster and play for only
one team in the league. For insurance and liability requirements
players must register themselves with Play Slo-Pitch before playing
any games, and it is fraudulent to register anyone other than
yourself. Using an ineligible player will result in forfeiture
of all games that have been played with that player. This is
not subject to protest. |

11 | A
game will be forfeited if a team does not have at least 8 players
throughout a complete game. A grace period of 10 minutes after
game time will be allowed in order for enough players to arrive.
Any team responsible for forfeiture must pay all costs incurred
(diamond rental, lighting, umpire, etc.), before another game
is played by the offending team. The forfeit fee is $40 when
advance notification is given, and $75 otherwise. The opposing
team will receive the $40. |

12 | By
July 1, players on a team must be wearing matching shirts, with
numbers, and pants/shorts must be in good shape, or they will
not be allowed to play. |
|
13 | Scoresheets and Scores | |
a | The
following are required on the scoresheet. - Players (first and last name) - Jersey numbers - Teams - Date - Diamond - Umpire - Score |
|
b | Both
teams must email the score to the Statistician,
by 12 noon the following day, so the standings can be updated.
Both teams must also submit their scoresheets within 24 hours. |
|
14 | a | Regular season and playoff games are 1 hour and 30 minutes, with no inning starting after that. |
b | Tournament
games are 1 hour and 15 minutes, with no inning starting after
that. |
|
15 | Cancellations | |
a | Cancellation of a game will only be allowed for a rainout, unless there are extenuating circumstances approved by the Executive. | |
b | If the town has not cancelled our use of the diamond we must make every effort to play. If both teams cannot come to an agreement on whether to play or not, the home team will make the decision. | |
c | If a game is to be cancelled, the home team must notify the Head Umpire (608-8120) at least 30 minutes prior to game time or the home team will pay the cost of the umpire. | |
d | When a game is cancelled during the 30 minutes prior to game time, the umpire will be paid $5. | |
e | When
a game is cancelled, the home team is responsible for notifying
the Statistician (519-245-3291). |

16 | Scheduling | |
a | Teams must be available to play on any Tuesday or Thursday throughout the season, and also on the day of the Tournament. | |
b | The
Statistician will reschedule a game only once. |
|
17 | Umpires | |
a | The Head Umpire is responsible for assigning an umpire for each game. | |
b | The umpire must be allowed to stand between the batter and the catcher. | |
c | Umpires may only be approached by the captain or coach, regarding disputed calls, and others may be ejected. | |
d | Umpires will not tolerate ANY foul language. | |
e | Players ejected from a game must leave the park and the umpire must submit a written report to the Head Umpire, who will then notify the league within 24 hours. | |
f | Umpires may call a game off, and their word is final. | |
g | If
no umpire shows up for a game, both teams are responsible for
deciding on a team representative, or attending person, to umpire
the game. If team representatives are used, the at bat team will
umpire and the team representative can change from inning to
inning. Volunteers will be paid the umpire fee or, if both teams
do the umpiring, half of the umpire fee will be returned to each
team. |

18 | Suspensions | |
a | When a player is ejected from a game, written reports from the umpire and both teams must be submitted to the league within 24 hours. Teams failing to do so will forfeit each game until the report is filed. | |
b | Players ejected from a game will be suspended for the next game, regardless if it is a league, Tournament, or playoff game. | |
c | Players who fail to leave the park, after being ejected, will be suspended for the next two games. | |
d | A player who breasts, shoves, spits at, or kicks dirt on any other person will be suspended for the next five games. | |
e | Extreme physical contact or extreme verbal abuse by a player towards any other person will result in a minimum suspension of one year. | |
f | Suspensions will automatically be doubled for players suspended a second time in the same season. | |
g | Players who are suspended three times in a season will automatically be suspended for one year. | |
h | Suspensions
may carry over into the playoffs and the following season. |

20 | The
Ingersoll Tuesday Night Slo-Pitch League will not be responsible
for any injuries or damages incurred by any player or spectator. |
|
21 | In
the event of dissolution of the Ingersoll Tuesday Night Slo-Pitch
League during the season, the remaining finances will be distributed
equally to each of the teams. In the event of dissolution of
the Ingersoll Tuesday Night Slo-Pitch League prior to a season,
the remaining finances will be distributed equally to each of
the teams from the previous season. |
